Immigration Department of Malaysia Announces Abolition of Online Appointment Process!

The Immigration Department has announced the abolition of the online booking process and the extension of the opening hours of the counters.

 

According to the news issued by the Immigration Department of Malaysia, the online appointment system in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Johor Bahru, Negeri Sembilan and Melaka will be abolished from May 16. In addition to the above listed areas, the online appointment system will be abolished from May 9.

 

If you have already made an appointment after May 9 or May 16 through the online appointment system, you do not need to follow the date issued by the system to the immigration office. People can make appointments on May 9 or May 16

In addition, the Immigration Department has also announced extended counter hours. The Immigration counters in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Putrajaya, Johor Bahru, Negeri Sembilan and Melaka will be open from 8am to 1pm every Saturday from May 14.

 

The immigration counters at the Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Johor Bahru will also be extended to 10pm from May 16 onwards.

 

In addition, people in Putrajaya, new passport applicants, senior citizens, persons with disabilities, students, children and pilgrims can apply for their passports directly at the Immigration Department from now on, without having to make an appointment online.

 

Immigration has already issued 151,173 passports between April 1 and April 26, which is an increase of about 40 percent compared to the period before the opening of the border.
