If you kill someone in a car accident at a cross junction without stopping, you might be fined up to RM20,000 or imprisoned for up to ten years.

Drivers that speed out without pausing at the junction may be fined up to RM20,000!

It is unsafe to proceed straight out of the cross junction without halting. It will threaten not only your own life but also the lives of other road users.

Any driver that rushes out at the crossroads without pausing would be in violation of the Road Transport Act 1987, according to a notice sent by the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM).

Reckless driving resulting in death is punishable by a fine of RM5,000 to RM20,000 and a sentence of 2 to 10 years in prison under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

When you arrive at the intersection, pull over to the right and evaluate the road conditions on the left and right before changing lanes.
