ID number and phone number do not match when applying for EPF withdrawal, need to answer 5 security questions.

When applying for a special withdrawal from your provident fund, if the ID number and cell phone number you entered do not match, you will be asked to re-enter the information or answer security questions.

 

The Employees Provident Fund Board (KWSP) is open for members to apply for EPF withdrawals from now until April 30. Members can withdraw up to RM10,000 from their provident fund.

 

To ensure the security of the member’s account deposit, KWSP will require the member to enter their cell phone number to obtain the OTP one-time verification code when applying for withdrawal. If the cell phone number entered by the member does not match with the cell phone number recorded in the EPF Board’s database, you will be asked to re-enter the information. You can also choose to answer the security question.

 

The security questions you need to answer will include whether you have ever applied for a withdrawal in 2021, whether you have ever come to the EPF Board to get your hand stamped in 2021, whether you have ever withdrawn money to pay your mortgage in 2021, whether you have ever registered for i-Suri, etc.

 

If you successfully answer these questions, then the system will allow you to proceed with your withdrawal application, otherwise your application will be rejected and you will need to try again. Too many errors may result in your EPF account being blocked and you will need to visit your nearest EPF office to apply for unblocking.
