The Road Transport Department of Malaysia (JPJ) has launched an online license plate number purchase service, allowing people to purchase their favorite license plate numbers online. After completing the payment, you can hand the relevant documents to the agent who purchased the car and let them handle the subsequent procedures.
There are two fees for purchasing license plate numbers online. The first is the fee for the license plate number, which is a minimum of RM300. The second is the service fee, which is only RM10. The two fees combined are as low as RM310. You can choose to pay for your license plate number via bank card or Internet Banking.
Here I’ll teach you how to buy a license plate number online yourself. If you already have a mySIKAP online account, you can jump directly to step 6.
Step 1 of how to purchase a license plate number online through mySIKAP
: Browse https://public.jpj.gov.my/public/login.zul and select Daftar / Log Masuk Kali Pertama (MyKad).
Step 2: Enter your ID number, mobile phone number, email address and security verification code, and click Teruskan.
Step 3: Complete the account registration process and check your email. You will receive a temporary password via email.
Step 4: Log in to mySIKAP using the temporary password and then change the password.
Step 5: Log in to your mySIKAP account again.
Step 6: Select Kenderaan, then select Tempahan No. Pendaftaran at the bottom.
Step 7: You can select the state or region, then select the letter of the license plate number, enter the license plate number you want, and click Cari.
