How do you know you are infected with the Omicron variant?
According to South African physicians, the most obvious symptoms of Omicron infection are not respiratory but musculoskeletal, with Omicron attacking the musculoskeletal system first, followed by aches and pains in the muscles, bones, joints and ligaments.
Patients are known to feel hot and cold the night before the visit and wake up in the morning with a headache, body aches, chest pain, back pain and fatigue. If a patient has these symptoms, there is a high probability that he or she is infected with the Omicron variant.
There are 5 symptoms of infection with the Omicron variant, namely hoarse throat, dry cough, extreme fatigue, mild muscle aches and night sweats. Unlike the Delta variant, patients infected with Omicron do not lose their sense of taste and smell, and they eat food with taste.
As of December 25, China has accumulated 62 confirmed cases of Omicron, of which 61 are imported cases and one is a suspected local case.
