KWSP announced the release date of November i-Citra payment on its Facebook page. While many members left comments under the post asking the board to allow members to withdraw RM10,000, members also requested the government to include the RM10,000 i-Citra withdrawal policy in the budget to be presented on Friday.
Umno Youth also visited the EPF Board in September to request the implementation of an enhanced i-Citra withdrawal scheme that would allow members to withdraw up to RM10,000 from their EPF accounts.
According to Umno Youth, many people in the T20 high income group and M40 middle income group have been relegated to the B40 low income group. These groups are keen to withdraw at least RM10,000 from their accounts to repay their loans and meet their daily expenses. The EPF Board also said in the meeting that they will discuss the matter with Finance Minister Tunku Zafrul.
In fact, it is not only the Umno youth who requested the EPF Board to increase the withdrawal amount of i-Citra, former Prime Minister Najib and UMNO President Amar Zahi also suggested earlier to increase the withdrawal amount of i-Citra.
Whether the government will allow members to withdraw up to RM10,000 from their EPF accounts will depend on the 2022 Budget to be presented to Parliament on October 29.
