Hong Leong Bank intends to close five branches in August and two more in January of the following year.

HLB intends to close 5 branches in August and 2 in January 2023.

Hong Leong Bank intends to close and relocate five branches in August, three of which have been approved by Bank Negara and two of which are still awaiting approval. It also intends to close two branches in January of the following year.

According to Hong Leong Bank, five branches will be closed and relocated in August. After the branch closes, its banking operations will be transferred to other branches, and users’ deposits will be unaffected.

The three Hong Leong Bank branches that have been approved for closure by Bank Negara are those in Sungai Bakap, Penang, Ukay Perdana, Selangor, and Kapar Town, Selangor.

The Hong Leong Bank branch in Sungai Bakap, Penang, will close on August 19, 2022, and its operations will be transferred to the Simpang Ampat branch.

Hong Leong Bank in Ukay Perdana, Selangor, will close on August 26, 2022, and its operations will be transferred to the branch in Taman Sri Rampai, Kuala Lumpur.

The Hong Leong Bank branch in Kapar Town, Selangor, will close on August 26, 2022, and the business will be transferred to the branch in Setia Alam, Selangor.

There are also two Hong Leong Bank branches scheduled to close on August 12, 2022: one in Sungai Dua, Penang, and one in Balik Pulau, Penang. The National Bank has yet to approve the closure of these branches.

Furthermore, Hong Leong Bank intends to close two branches in January 2023, one in Cyberjaya, Selangor, and one in Setiawangsa, Kuala Lumpur. Bank Negara Malaysia has not yet approved the closure of these branches.

In Malaysia, Hong Leong Bank currently operates 234 branches and 1,020 self-service machines through which customers can access banking services.
