Honda Malaysia has announced that it is recalling 1,527 vehicles out of an abundance of caution. The vehicles involved include the City Sedan, City Hatchback, HR-V and BR-V produced from 2020 to 2022.
Of these vehicles, 1,068 are City Sedan and City Hatchback produced in 2021 and 2022, 343 are HR-Vs produced in 2020 and 116 are BR-Vs produced in 2021.
Honda is recalling 1,068 Honda Town Cars and City Hatchbacks as part of a recall to check that the bolts on the generators (alternators). If the bolts are not tightened, it could cause the battery to fail and the car could stop functioning while driving or fail to start after that.
As for the Honda HR-V and BR-V recall is to check the car engine current grounding wires (Earth Grounding Wire).
Honda Malaysia noted that the recall is a precautionary safety measure and that no vehicles have been involved in accidents due to similar problems. Owners can call the hotline at 1800-88-2020 for updates, and the cost of the recall and replacement parts will be borne by Honda Malaysia.
The latest cars will not have similar problems, so people can buy them with no worry.
