The government will give out RM150 eStart e-purse reward to young people between 18 and 20 years old!
Finance Minister Tunku Zafrul mentioned in his budget speech at the end of October last year that the government will give out RM150 eStart e-purse to young people between 18 and 20 years old. However, the government has not yet announced any details about the distribution of the RM150 eStart e-purse reward.
According to previous information issued by the Ministry of Finance, all youths between the ages of 18 and 20 are eligible to receive RM150 through the eStart platform. eStart rewards are also available to full-time enrolled tertiary students aged 21 or above.
The purpose of the eStart eWallet Rewards is to encourage people to use cashless payments in order to forge a more convenient and transparent payment method. Cashless payments can also reduce the cost of printing banknotes for the government.
Seeing this, many people are wondering why the government is only giving out eWallet rewards to 18 to 20 year olds. This is actually the government’s desire to help all age groups and all groups in need. 18 to 20 year olds are of an awkward age and cannot receive either the Start of School Aid or the Damascus Family Aid.
Primary and secondary school students between the ages of 7 and 17 are eligible for the RM150 Start of School Assistance (BAP), while young people aged 21 and above are also eligible for the BKM, and those who are eligible to pay income tax are also eligible for income tax deductions.
