Government announces top prices for broilers and eggs!

The government has set the ceiling price for broiler chickens at RM9.40 per kilogram while the ceiling price for eggs is 41 to 45 sen.

 

According to a message from the Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry, the top price for broilers in Peninsular Malaysia will be RM9.40 per kilogram, while the top price for Grade A eggs will be 45 sen each, Grade B eggs 43 sen and Grade C eggs 41 sen. The new prices will take effect from July 1, 2022.

 

The current price per kilogram for Standard Net Chicken in West Malaysia is RM8.90 while the price per kilogram for Super Net Chicken is RM9.90. Grade A eggs are RM0.43 each, Grade B eggs are RM0.41 and Grade C eggs are RM0.39 each.

 

In addition, to cope with the growing inflation, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri announced the establishment of an inflation task force. The task force will be headed by Minister of Communications and Multimedia Tan Sri Anuar Musa, with other members including Finance Minister Tunku Zafrul, Agriculture and Food Industry Minister Datuk Seri Ronald Kiandi, Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Alexander, Economic Affairs Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Mustafa and Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohamad Zuki.

 

The task force’s mission is to gather information from departments, agencies and the public and then develop strategies and coordinate actions to address inflation. The task force meets twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays, and holds a press conference after the meetings.
