A brother and sister went to the swimming pool of a bed and breakfast near their home to have fun without telling their parents. Unfortunately, their 2-year-old sister drowned in the pool.
The girl drowned yesterday morning around 10:00 in Kampung Pulai.
The head of the new police district in Jasin, DSP Ahmad Jamil, said that the person who died was a 2-year-old girl named Auni Farisa.
“According to what we know so far, the young boy who died and his 5-year-old brother walked to the swimming pool about 500 metres from their home for fun, without telling their parents or family.”
“The family of the young victim owned the pool, and there were no guests at the Homestay at the time of the crime.”
He said that the little girl’s brother walked home alone after the accident, soaked and wet.
“When asked where his sister was, the brother said she was in the pool by herself.”
He said that the parents of the young person who died called their friends right away and went to the pool to find out what was going on. There, they found the young person who died unconscious in the pool.
“The dead person was taken to the Menglembu Clinic, where cardiopulmonary resuscitation was done for 45 minutes (CPR). Later, the dead young girl was taken to Melaka Hospital, where it was finally confirmed that she had died.”
Ahmad Jamil said that the body of the young person who died was sent for an autopsy because there was no evidence of a crime in the death.
