Fun Fact: Left armpit smell different from right armpit?

02/01/2022

Everyone’s body odor is different, just like the smell of your armpit, which can be affected by the food you eat and become lighter or heavier. For example, if you like to eat spicy and stimulating things, the odor in your armpits will be very heavy, and if you eat lighter foods, the body odor will be less.

Although we all know that food affects the body odor from armpit, it turns out that the left armpit and the right armpit emit different odors? A dermatologist analyzed the odor from the left and right armpits and believes it smell different may be due to the use of antiperspirants and deodorants.

Although deodorants and antiperspirants are both underarm care products, they have very different functions. Antiperspirants primarily stop sweat from mixing with bacteria on the skin. The main function of deodorants is to mask the odor emitted by sweat. Another major cause of underarm odor is the “amount of underarm hair”. The more hair you have, the more likely you are to have a strong odor. If the armpit hairs are not cleaned, the hairs will absorb more sweat from the skin, so thicker armpit hairs will absorb more sweat and the bacteria will mix together, making the odor stronger.

To deal with underarm odor, in addition to changing the diet, but also regularly clean the armpit hair to reduce the breeding of bacteria.
