From October 24, some phones will not be able to update WhatsApp!

08/09/2022

With news that Facebook parent company Meta is creating a new division to build “potentially paid features” for Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, there’s been a lot of speculation that Meta’s social media may require a fee to be used in the future. Although WhatsApp has recently been adding more user-friendly features, it will no longer be supported on iOS 10, iOS 11 and Android 4.1 devices starting October 24, 2022.

Users can continue to update WhatsApp to the latest version if their phones can be upgraded to the latest version through system updates, otherwise they cannot update and can only continue to use WhatsApp by changing their phones.

Currently, only iPhone 5 and iPhone 5C are still running iOS 10 and iOS 11, while all other Apple devices can be upgraded to iOS 12 or above. iPhone 5s users are also officially advised to upgrade, so as long as you upgrade your iOS system, you can continue to use the latest version of WhatsApp!

Currently, WhatsApp supports iPhone running iOS 12 or above, Android phones running Android 4.1 or above, as well as JioPhone and JioPhone 2 running KaiOS 2.5.0 or above, which are also supported by WhatsApp’s update.

WhatsApp said that it will send out a notice to remind users to upgrade before it stops supporting the developed operating system.
