From 8th March, Maybank user will no longer receive SMS TAC for online transactions and will have to use Secure2u for verification.

This measure is intended to protect customers’ accounts and prevent SMS TAC verification codes from being passed to fraudsters by mistake, leading to theft of deposits.

What is Secure2u?
Secure2u is a safer and more convenient way to authorize Maybank2u and MAE transactions by using Secure Verification and Secure TAC for complete verification.

Secure2u is more secure than SMS TAC because Secure2u can only be used on phones that have completed verification.

When performing a Maybank banking transaction, user’s cell phone will receive a notification of the relevant verification thru Maybank App. User will then need to open Maybank App and select Approve or Reject to complete the transaction process.

Maybank App will then produce a set of TACs in app.
