For around 30 years, the local Malay band OAG has been performing. The performance was actually held in December of last year due to an RM50,000 credit from the loan shark. The band’s lead singer admitted that he chose to borrow money from the loan shark since the budget was limited and the stage wasn’t ready, which would have stopped the show from taking place.
The loan shark sent the 50,000 ringgit to Penang on the same day as Muhammad Radhi Razali said directly, “I know this is not good, but I still decided to borrow money from them,” due to the urgency of the situation. He also stressed, “This money is used to build the stage and prepare for the concert.” The night would have been nothing without the RM50,000.
In the end, the concert tickets had to be given away for free because of time constraints and other issues. “We go on because of the supporters. Many people believed that all of the tickets had been sold. In fact, a lot of them were given away, instead.
The drummer for the group, Qi Razali, also admitted that he believed his decision to leave the group was motivated by this performance, but Mohd Radi emphasized that they split peacefully, without conflict, and that he made the decision to respect each other’s choice.
