Felda will provide RM9.7M in monsoon aid to its settlers.
The Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) will provide Monsoon Season Aid (BMT) totaling RM9.7 million to 12,138 eligible rubber tappers across the country through its land schemes.
The Strategic Communications Department stated that each rubber tapper will receive RM800 in three instalments, with the first instalment, involving a payment of RM200, to be made this month.
The second phase, involving RM300 payments, will be made next month, with the third phase payment of RM200 to be made in March.
The payments will be deposited directly into the settlers’ bank accounts.
Felda settlers who deliver their produce to Felda’s rubber collection centre are eligible for this assistance, as are those who have no produce due to labour issues or whose rubber trees have been attacked by disease, and those who are currently involved in Felda’s replanting period.
