Etiqa Car Insurance offers 30% rebate for driving less than 14km per day

04/04/2022

Etiqa Car Insurance is offering a ‘drive less, save more’ offer, where you can get up to 30% discount if you drive less than a certain number of kilometres in an average day.

Government requires every vehicle on the road to have car insurance. Some people rarely drive their cars on the road, but they are still required to pay high car insurance premiums, which is unfair to car owners.

For this reason, Maybank’s car insurance company, Etiqa, is offering a “Drive Less Save More” offer. If you drive less than a certain number of miles per day, you can save up to 30% on your car insurance premiums.

Owners who drive an average of 0 to 14 kilometres per day will receive a 30% cash rebate. Owners who drive an average of 15 to 28 km per day will receive a 20% cash rebate. A 10% rebate is available for vehicles driven between 29 and 42 kilometres per day.

Owners can choose to participate in the Drive Less Save More offer when renewing their car insurance, and will not be charged extra for choosing this offer. Owners will then need to download the Etiqa Smile App and follow the instructions to take a picture of their car’s licence plate number and ODOMeter odometer.

You can then take and upload photos of your car and mileage to the Etiqa Smile App each month at your convenience, and each time you upload a photo, Etiqa will review it and give you a rebate.
