According to the news issued by the Deputy Minister of Human Resources, the Employment (Amendment) Act 2022 will come into effect on September 1, 2022 and employees can apply to their employers for flexible working.
If an employee wishes to work flexibly, he or she must submit a formal written request to the employer. The written letter must clearly state the details of the hours, days and location of work.
After receiving the employee’s application, the employer must respond in wording format within 60 days, i.e., accept or reject the application. If an employer rejects an employee’s application, it must give a reasonable reason for doing so.
In addition, the Human Resources Department is also studying a four-day work week.
