The new school year will start next week for primary and secondary schools!
According to the school schedule and holidays issued by the Ministry of Education, primary and secondary schools will start the new school year on March 21, and the new school year will have three semesters. The 1st semester is from March 21 to June 11/12, the 2nd semester is from June 12/13 to September 10/11, and the 3rd semester is from September 11/12 to March 11/12.
Since the epidemic situation in the country is still severe, the Ministry of Education has decided to return elementary school students to school in groups. Elementary schools with less than 600 students will return to school in groups from March 21. For elementary schools with more than 600 students, first, second and sixth grades will return to school as a group, while third through fifth grade students will continue to return to school in groups.
As the SPM examinations are still in progress, secondary school students will only be required to return to school as a group from April 4. In order to avoid classroom shortage, the Ministry of Education has decided to postpone the return of secondary school students in the new school year.
All secondary schools in the country will start classes on March 21, but will not be required to return to school until April 4. During this period, classes will be conducted in a home-school style.
