According to the Ministry of Land Transport (JPJ), drivers must renew their driver’s licenses and road tax by December 31.
Renewing your driver’s license and road tax at JPJ no longer requires an appointment, but only those who have completed two doses of vaccinations can do so at the JPJ counter. In addition to JPJ branch offices, PUSPAKOM and POS also offer license and road tax renewal services.
However, it is important to note that a fee of RM2.50 will be charged for renewing your driver’s license and road tax at POS, compared to RM2.00 previously.
You can also choose to renew your road tax and license online first and then collect your new license or road tax in person at JPJ to save your time waiting at the JPJ counter. For those who want to renew their road tax and driver’s license online, you can visit https://public.jpj.gov.my/public/login.zul and log in or register your account. Then select Renew Driver’s License and Road Tax Service and complete the online payment. Once you have completed the online renewal, you can pick up your driver’s license or road tax at the selected JPJ branch.
