Do you know where KWSP invests its members’ savings?
According to the information previously published by the Employees Provident Fund Board (KWSP), KWSP invests its assets in four main areas, namely the stock market, fixed income instruments, money market instruments, and real estate and infrastructure.
Of KWSP’s investment assets, 44% are invested in the stock market, 45% in fixed income instruments, 5% in money market instruments and 6% in real estate and infrastructure.
In the first quarter of this year, the stock market generated RM10.460 billion in investment income for KWSP, accounting for 66% of the income. Fixed income instruments generated RM4.75 billion or 30% of the investment income. Money market instruments generated RM280 million in investment income and real estate and infrastructure generated RM360 million in investment income.
As of March this year, KWSP’s total invested assets amounted to RM1.02 trillion, of which 37% belonged to overseas investments. Overseas investments brought in RM8.23 billion, or 52%, of KWSP’s revenue.
