Digital Communications Minister reveals: Internet access fees expected to drop by Christmas!

Internet access fees may be reduced before Christmas?

According to a message from the Minister of Digital Communication Fahmy, people can look forward to the coming Christmas, when there will be good news related to communication. It is generally expected that the good news will be the reduction of the price of Internet access packages.

Previously, Fahmy had revealed that the Ministry of Digital Communications was in discussions with telecommunications companies to reduce the cost of telecommunications services in the country. At that time, Fahmy pointed out that people want to be able to sign up for Internet services at a lower price.

Copen Sing had succeeded in reducing the cost of domestic broadband when he took office as the then Minister of Communications and Multimedia in 2018. Previously, Streamyx cost RM160 for 8Mbps, RM140 for 4Mbps, RM130 for 2Mbps and RM110 for 1Mbps.

However, TM has since reduced the cost of Streamyx and started to replace Streamyx with unifi, which costs only RM89 for 30Mbps, RM129 for 100Mbps, RM159 for 300Mbps, RM209 for 500Mbps and RM299 for 800Mbps. and RM299 for 500Mbps and 800Mbps.
