Digi is gradually shutting down the domestic 3G network. Users are urged to upgrade their mobile phones and Sim as soon as possible to avoid being unable to access the Internet after closing the 3G network.
According to the timetable released by Digi, Digi has shut down 3G networks in Kelantan, Pahang, and Terengganu on December 6. Digi also shut down Sabah’s 3G network on December 13. Digi 3G networks in Johor, Malacca and Negeri Sembilan will be shut down on December 16.
As for North Malaysia, areas such as Kedah, Perak, Perlis, and Pahang will shut down 3G networks on December 20. The Digi 3G network in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and Putrajaya will be shut down on December 22, and the 3G network in Sarawak will be shut down on December 30.
Want to know if your mobile phone supports a 4G network, you can send 4G to 28282 via SMS. As for wanting to know whether your Sim card supports a 4G network, you can send LTE to 20000. If you find that the Sim card you are using does not support 4G, you can go to the nearby Digi Store or Digi Kiosks to replace the Sim card.
If you are still using a 3G Sim card and a mobile phone that only supports 3G networks after December 31, you will face a situation where you cannot access the Internet. You can only use the 2G network to make calls.
