Despite being born deaf, man perseveres, earns a living as a food delivery man
Even though he was born deaf, the disabled delivery man is still trying his best to make a living and is determined not to bow down to society!
A netizen has posted a story on social media Facebook about a deaf, mute and poor food delivery worker who still perseveres to earn a living, online media mStar reported.
The netizen said the said story was an experience that happened when he was taking a break with a disabled (OKU) food delivery worker at a bus stop somewhere in Cyberjaya.
“I asked the delivery man during my break and when I asked him where he was going to deliver his next meal, he made a gesture that he was unable to speak.”
He pointed out that after making the gesture, the delivery man typed through his cell phone that he had just returned from the Saijo delivery point and was thinking of going back after receiving the order from Man Yee
“He has been working as a delivery man since 2019 to date and when I asked him how he communicates with his customers, he on the other hand said he does so through customer service help.”
He said he felt admiration in the moment and that he thought the delivery man would do his job to the best of his ability despite his flaws.
“He was very focused on the quality of his work, having been given a 5-star rating by more than 300 customers, and he was also very polite, moving away on his own when smoking.”
He noted that after a 20-minute break, the deliveryman received an order from an Arab customer who did not have the WhatsApp mobile app to communicate.
“I advised him to use email to communicate and asked him to leave a ‘missed call’ for the customer upon arrival at the delivery location.”
He added that he would have liked to help the delivery person contact the customer, but he wanted to communicate on his own, so he had to continue to wait for the order.
The user noted that while waiting for his next order, he suddenly became frustrated that the disabled delivery man didn’t get to hear his mom’s voice.
“He said that when he was a kid he could only cry silently and no one cried with him when he was sad, and I even miss my mom’s voice when I’m alone.”
He also praised the delivery boy for not using his disability to gain sympathy from others, which inspired him.
“He is a civilized person whose parents raised him and was born into this world without hearing the voices of those who raised him or accompanied him.”
He added that what impressed him most was that while he worked part-time as a food delivery man to earn a living, he also helped the government to provide assistance to people with disabilities, thus showing that he was not dependent on others and was a very independent person.
The post attracted a lot of comments from netizens who thanked them for sharing the story and prayed that God would bless the food delivery man in his journey to earn a living.
