Touch ‘n Go eWallet is once again offering a GO+ Extra Yield promotion, where you can earn an extra 2% or a total of about 3.50% p.a. on your investments when you deposit your money in GO+.
According to a message from Touch ‘n Go eWallet, users who deposit money into Touch ‘n Go eWallet’s GO+ between February 16 and April 30, 2022, will enjoy an investment yield of up to 3.50% p.a. Investment income will be credited to the user’s GO+ account daily.
To get up to 3.50% p.a., you must deposit a minimum of RM200 into your GO+ account. You will receive approximately 1.50% p.a. of the investment return that you already receive and an additional 2.00% p.a. of the investment return, for a total of approximately 3.50% p.a.
If your deposit is less than RM200, you will not be entitled to the additional 2% p.a., you will only be entitled to the original yield of approximately 1.50% p.a. However, it is important to note that the additional 2% yield is limited to the first RM3,000, if you deposit more than RM3,000, then the rest of your deposit will only be entitled to the normal yield of approximately 1.50% p.a.
The settlement time for GO+ is 4pm daily, which means that deposits made before 4pm will be counted as interest, while deposits made after 4pm will be classified as next day deposits.
Here is an example to let you know how to calculate the return on GO+. Assuming you deposit RM3,000 into GO+, you will receive 1.50% p.a. on weekdays and an additional 2% p.a.. These two returns will be calculated separately.
RM3,000 X 1.50% / 365 = RM0.123
RM3,000 X 2% / 365 = RM0.164
RM0.123 + RM0.164 = RM0.287
You will receive RM0.287 interest per day.
It is important to note that the interest rate will only be displayed in two digits, assuming you receive RM0.0219, the system will display RM0.02 and the rest of RM0.0019 will only be credited to your GO+ account after RM0.01 has been accumulated.
