Dates of Chinese Traditional Festival in 2022

The Chinese New Year is the largest and most lively festival for the Chinese. In addition to the Chinese New Year, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, and Winter Solstice are also festivals that the Chinese attach great importance to.

The Lunar New Year’s Day in 2022 is earlier than Lichun. The Lunar New Year’s Day in 2022 will fall on February 1 (Tuesday), and Lichun will fall on February 4 (Friday). The ninth day of the Lunar New Year is the Tiangong Birthday, and the Tiangong Birthday in 2022 will fall on February 9th (Wednesday). The Lantern Festival falls on February 15 (Tuesday).

The Ching Ming Festival falls on April 5 (Tuesday), the Dragon Boat Festival on the fifth day of May falls on June 3 (Friday), and the Zhongyuan Festival falls on August 12 (Friday) on July 15. The Mid-Autumn Festival on August 15 falls on September 10 (Saturday). December 22 (Thursday) is the Winter Solstice Festival.

Other festivals such as Jingzhe fall on March 5 (Saturday). The traditional custom of Jingzhe is to beat villains and worship tigers. Qixi falls on August 4 (Thursday).
