Customers who canceled their orders after being dissatisfied with the restaurant may have to pay RM90 in damages to the delivery man.
Customers who ordered food on the delivery platform on a cash-on-delivery basis left a message cursing the operator and then suddenly told the delivery man that they wanted to cancel the order, resulting in the delivery man becoming the wrongdoer and being forced to bear the customer’s meal bill of nearly RM90.
The deliveryman was on his way to deliver the food when he was suddenly notified by a message that the customer had forcefully canceled his order. “Order canceled, cancel my order!”
The deliveryman then responded, “Brother, your food is ready, are you going to cancel your order? I’m already on my way to deliver the food.” The customer is still insisting that he will not be picking up his food.
Although the customer asked the deliveryman to send him his account number, saying that he would transfer the money, it is unknown whether the deliveryman has received the money transfer.
Some netizens said the customer usually reneged on the payment, while others criticized the customer’s selfish behavior.
According to online media outlet mStar, a screenshot uploaded to the social media site shows the customer ordering a set meal of one Indonesian spiced fried chicken rice, two Sudong coconut milk rice and two regular coconut milk rice, including drinks, for a total of RM89.72 sen.
This customer wrote in a message on the platform, “Are you human or animal? When a customer asks for the sauce to be separate from the food, you do it; when a customer asks for a specific part of chicken, you give it!”
“If not, you should call the customer and ask what you want to do with the order instead of preparing it randomly, it’s really stupid!”
It turned out that this customer was not ordering food from the restaurant for the first time, and this time the order was made in order to leave a message abusing the store, and after getting his way, he arbitrarily canceled the order.
Netizens believe that the customer should not be involved in personal grudges with the operator to the delivery staff, some suggested that the option of “cash on delivery” should be canceled, so as to protect the rights and interests of the delivery staff.
