According to worldwide media sources, a foreign guy grew interested in his family’s ancestry and took advantage of a special offer to buy two DNA testing kits – one for himself and one for his father. However, this seemingly innocuous gesture revealed his mother’s long-hidden truth, devastating their once happy and harmonious family. The man expresses tremendous guilt for his conduct, stating, “I destroyed my parents’ 33-year marriage for the sake of curiosity.”
According to his post on the popular American forum Reddit, the man has always been interested in his family’s history and wanted to compare his results with others who had already done DNA testing.
As a result, he bought two DNA testing kits online, one for himself and one for his father, without alerting his mother, who had never discussed lineage or DNA issues with them.
“After receiving the test results for both my father and myself, we compared our ancestral backgrounds, and the outcome was unexpected,” the guy added.
His father had substantial British and Irish ancestry with a mix of French and German roots, while his history was traced back to Scandinavia, beginning from the Nordic areas, with traces of French, German, and Italian ancestry.
Both the man and his father were perplexed by the findings at first, until they checked the DNA of additional family members, proving that they had no biological tie. The discovery surprised them, and the father confronted the mother angrily.
Emotionally exhausted, the mother suddenly revealed that she had known all along that the man was not her real son and added that if she had known about the DNA testing, she would have stopped it.
Feeling immense regret, the man revealed that his parents are currently considering divorce, lamenting,
“I destroyed my parents’ 33-year marriage just because I wanted to satisfy my curiosity with DNA testing.”
The occurrence has caused several issues, as the father now wishes to know whether the man’s two siblings are also his biological offspring.
