Many drivers habitually cross the white line when waiting for traffic lights, and even car drivers park their cars in the yellow box. But now the Penang police launched the “universal traffic rules” program officially started, which will deal with those who crossed the white line car owners.
The Penang police are currently giving advice and counseling to motorists who cross the white line and other traffic lights. And from April onwards will be directly ticketed to deal with this.
Penang Northeast District Police Chief Sufian said that the entire monitoring operation found that both drivers and motorists have violated the situation, but at present, the police only give advice and instructions, not yet issued a ticket.
At present the first stage, that is, from January to March, the police will only give publicity and advice, to remind people to comply with traffic rules. The second phase, April, will begin to be strictly enforced and tickets will be issued to violators.
The police are doing this to let people revisit the traffic rules they learned when they took their licenses, and also to ensure that the personal safety of every driver on the road is better protected and to reduce the number of car accidents!
