Creative Approach Lands Malaysian University Graduate a Job Interview through Grab

06/07/2023

Naziruddin “@naziruddin19,” a Malaysian university graduate, took an unusual method to find jobs after graduation while working as a full-time Grab driver. He decided to display his CV in the backseat of his car, where passengers may read it and possibly link him with work chances.

To Naziruddin’s amazement, his method worked. Many people offered to photograph his resume and even enquire about employment openings on his behalf.

According to Naziruddin, who spoke to the media site “mStar,” a female passenger started a conversation with him and inquired about his educational background during one of his journeys. She then asked for a printed copy of his resume to send to her boss. Naziruddin had a printed copy on hand and delivered it to her.

Naziruddin later located the passenger’s LinkedIn page and discovered she was the department director of an e-commerce company. He has now advanced to the interview stage due to their chat.

Naziruddin, a Chemical Engineering graduate of Malaysia’s National University of Technology (UTP), expressed his skepticism about his method’s efficacy. Other passengers also offered to photograph his resume and inquire about job openings through their friends, leaving him astounded by Malaysians’ generosity.

“Why did I only come up with this idea after working full-time as a Grab driver for two months?” he commented, amusingly.
