A high school student in the United States was admitted into 125 universities at once, and the scholarships offered by each institution combined to reach a record-breaking US$9 million (RM40 million)!
Dennis Barnes, a 16-year-old, will graduate from New Orleans International High School on the 24th of the following month. Since August of last year, he has applied for admission to 200 American universities, and so far, he has been accepted to 125 of them. Some organizations, though, have not yet made the results public.
Barnes has excellent grades, with a near-perfect grade point average (GPA) of 4.98. President of the National Honor Society of the United States, he is proficient in Spanish and holds the official qualification certificate of the Cervantes Institute representing the Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports, and the José Luis Baños Spanish Honorary Consul Peggy in New Orleans. Language Excellence Award.
He said that he has not given up on his objective of receiving a $10 million scholarship and that he is still hoping to hear from further colleges. Barnes stated that he wants to announce his college choice on May 2.
