15/09/2021

Datuk Seri Noraini Binti Ahmad, Minister of Higher Education, announced that from October 15th, domestic institutions of higher education will allow the return of the college students, faculty and non-faculty members who have been vaccinated against coronavirus to campus.

According to reports, in order to ensure the sustainability of higher education quality in Malaysia and put the safety and well-being of students at priority, the Ministry of Higher Education will allow students to return to school according to the approval of the National Security Council. Students who have been vaccinated include all types of students and all stages of the national recovery plan, among which priority should be given to students in need.

In colleges and universities in West Malaysia, it is only necessary to get a letter from the school to return to school. For students returning to universities in East Malaysia, they should not only apply to the police station for cross-state according to the standard operating procedures for epidemic prevention formulated by Sabah or Sarawak but also undergo reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) testing.

She said that students only need to go to government health clinics for testing, which is free of charge.
“The personnel of the Ministry of Higher Education who have completed vaccination will form a safe community on campus and an environment for implementing the fourth stage of the national recovery plan, so strict standard operating procedures need to be implemented to manage the entry and exit of personnel.”
