Citizens are urged to renew their passports online before going to the designated immigration branches to collect their passports.

 

According to a message from the Malaysian Immigration Department, people who wish to renew their Malaysian international passports need to renew their passports through the online system before going to a designated Immigration counter to collect their new passports.

 

This measure is applicable to all groups except first time passport applicants, senior citizens, physically challenged persons, children under 13 years old, pilgrims, students and those who have damaged/lost their passports.

 

After renewing your passport through the online system, you will receive a notification email within 3 working days and then you can go to the designated immigration office to collect your new passport. If you do not receive the notification email after 3 working days, you can go directly to the designated immigration branch to collect your passport.

 

The Malaysian Immigration Department has also announced to extend the counter opening hours until 10pm. The immigration offices in Putrajaya, Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Johor, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka and West Malaysia UTC will be open until 10pm. The immigration offices in Penang, Kedah, Perak, Kelantan, Pahang, Terengganu and Perlis will be open until 6:00 pm.

 

All immigration counters in West Malaysia will also be open on Saturdays from 8am to 12:30pm.

 

For those who wish to renew their passports online, you must first visit https://imigresen-online.imi.gov.my/eservices/myPasport and read the terms and conditions carefully, then click on Setuju. Next, you will need to select the applicant’s age category, enter your passport number, ID number and other information, and the the branch of the immigration office where the passport is to be collected.

 

You will then need to complete the information, upload the eligible photo and complete the payment process. You must print the renewal passport receipt and bring it, your old passport and ID card to the designated INS branch to receive your updated passport.

 

The passport renewal fee is RM200 for those aged 13 to 59 years old and RM100 for those aged 60 years old and above who are of happy age. people can pay the passport renewal fee by credit card or FPX transfer.
