Children aged 5 to 11 must get their first dose of vaccination before May 15, otherwise they will be responsible to pay for it personally.
Do you have any children aged 5 to 11 who have not been vaccinated? After May 15, the government will no longer provide free vaccinations!
The government has set a May 15 deadline for the first dosage of the Covid-19 vaccination for children aged 5 to 11 under the Childhood Covid-19 Vaccination Program, according to the Deputy Minister of Health (PICKids).
As of May 16, the Ministry of Health will no longer offer free vaccines to children in this age group. By May 15, parents must decide whether or not to vaccinate their children.
It’s understandable that the demand for vaccines for children is low, resulting in a big amount of vaccines being going to waste. The Ministry of Health has decided to delay the first dosage of the vaccination until May 15 in order to avoid wasting vaccines.
From May 16, children aged 5 to 11 who have not yet got their first dose of the vaccine can pay a fee to have the Sinovac administered at a private facility. Parents should register their children for vaccines on MySejahtera by May 8 in order to receive an appointment by May 15.
It is crucial to note, however, that this measure does not apply to children born in 2017, nor to children who have not reached the age of five by May 15, 2022. After May 15, both groups can still register for vaccination through MySejahtera.
