Celcom finally launches VoWiFi feature!
According to a report by tech media SoyaCincau, Celcom has finally launched VoWiFi service 2 years after the launch of VoLTE service. With poor telecom signal, users can finally dial up their phone via WiFi.
VoWiFi, which stands for Voice Over WiFi, allows users to make calls over WiFi, so you can talk to your friends and family over VoWiFi even if you are in an area where there is no telecom signal. The cost of dialing will be calculated at the rate of the SIM card that comes with the phone.
The difference between VoWiFi and VoLTE is that VoWiFi is dialing over WiFi, while VoLTE is dialing over 4G LTE.
According to Celcom’s official website, there are only 9 devices that support VoWiFi, namely Vivo X80, Vivo X80 Pro, Huawei Mate 20 series, Huawei P30 series, Huawei Nova 5T and Nokia X20.
To activate VoWiFi service, you need to turn on WiFi Calling feature in your phone. If you don’t think you need VoWiFi service, you can also choose to turn off the WiFi Calling feature, which will not affect your regular dialing.
