According to the Secretary General of the Ministry of Health, all Ministry of Health facilities will fully implement cashless payments from October 1, 2022.
This means that Ministry of Health facilities will only accept cashless payments through electronic payment systems, which includes credit cards, debit cards and e-wallets. People will only be allowed to pay in cash if they do not have any electronic payment system or bank account.
The implementation of cashless payments throughout Malaysia at Ministry of Health facilities will bring many benefits, such as reducing the risk of loss of national revenue, improving the efficiency and security of collection, reducing the cost of collection, and reducing the risk of contracting coronary diseases.
The Ministry of Health will fully implement cashless payments from October 2022 and expects to reach the target of 95% cashless payments by December.
