The day before GE15 (Nov 18) may be listed as a special holiday.

Will Election Day Eve, November 18, be a special holiday?

According to the Guang Ming Daily, citing caretaker Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri, the caretaker government may declare November 18 as a special holiday, but this is still under consideration.

Ismail stated that he had been considering declaring a special holiday when he dissolved Parliament, but that it would depend on when it would be appropriate. Ismail asked the public to be patient while he made his announcement.

The 15th National General Election will be held on November 19 (Saturday), and many people are hoping that the government will declare November 18 (Friday) a special holiday, making it easier for them to return to their hometowns to vote and fulfil their civic responsibilities.

Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, chairman of the PN, stated in his election manifesto that if the PN wins the general election, the following day will be a special holiday. People in Kedah, Kelantan, Terengganu, and Johor will have a holiday on November 20 (Sunday), while the rest of the country will have a holiday on November 2 (Monday).
