Germany Gosen-Neu Zittau (Gosen-Neu Zittau) a transmission cable pylon (pylon) 5 early morning fire. Although the fire was quickly extinguished, the damage to the line led to power outages in the factory and surrounding villages, and the nearby Tesla factory was affected and forced to shut down production so employees could go home.

After the incident that day, the Brandenburg police sent a helicopter squadron, drones and service dogs to participate in the investigation, and based on the information available so far, arson is suspected.

Brandenburg Governor Dietmar Woidke noted that suspected arson would constitute an act of terrorism; if there is evidence that the fire was caused by arson, the federal prosecutor will take over the investigation.

Michael Stuebgen, the governor of the state of Brandenburg, also emphasized that if it is found to be arson, which would be tantamount to an attack on the power infrastructure that puts thousands of people at risk by cutting off essential supplies, “the rule of law will respond to this kind of vandalism in the strongest possible way.”

A spokeswoman for Tesla’s German factory said the company could not yet say when production could resume.

Far-left organizers from the so-called “Vulkangruppe” (Volcano) later claimed on their website that they had achieved their goal of blacking out the Superfactory through their vandalism, citing concerns about Tesla’s impact on local water supplies and the environment.
