BYD electric vehicles are open for Register Interest
BYD electric vehicles have been registered for interest, and the company plans to launch electric vehicles in Malaysia in December.
According to a post on the BYD – Sime Darby Motors Malaysia Facebook page, BYD electric vehicles will be officially introduced into the Malaysian market, and the public can now Register Interest. It is expected to be launched in early December 2022, with vehicles delivered to customers in the first quarter of 2023.
The BYD Atto 3 and BYD e6 will be available in Malaysia, with prices ranging from RM150,000 to RM170,000.
In September of this year, SDM signed a distribution agreement with BYD, and BYD’s electric vehicles will be sold through SDM’s distribution channels. SDM is also BYD’s general agent in Singapore.
SDM is expected to introduce 2,000 BYD electric vehicles by the end of this year, followed by another 10,000 BYD electric vehicles in 2023. BYD ATTO 3 and e6 models will be sold by SDM.
BYD is a Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer. BYD was founded in 1995. In 2021, BYD sold 730,000 family cars, 593,745 of which were new energy vehicles.
BYD sold 640,000 new energy vehicles in the first half of 2022, a 315% increase year on year. BYD has also surpassed Tesla as the world’s leading seller of new energy vehicles. In the first half of 2022, Tesla delivered 560,000 vehicles worldwide.
