BYD intends to compete in Malaysia’s electric car industry at the end of 2022.
Malaysia will see the entry of BYD into the automobile industry, and BYD will eventually be sold there.
Following the signing of a distribution agreement, BYD’s electric vehicles would be sold through the distribution networks of Sime Darby Motors (SDM). BYD’s general representative in Singapore is SDM.
2,000 BYD electric vehicles would reportedly be released by SDM by the end of this year, followed by another 10,000 BYD electric vehicles in 2023. The BYD ATTO 3 and e6 will be sold by SDM.
BYD is a Chinese manufacturer of electric vehicles. BYD began operations in 1995. In 2021, BYD sold 739,003 family cars, of which 593,745 were powered by innovative energy sources.
In the first half of 2022, BYD sold 640,000 new energy vehicles, a 315% year-over-year increase. Additionally, BYD surpassed Tesla to take the top spot in the global market for new energy vehicles. Throughout the world, Tesla delivered 560,000 automobiles in the first half of 2022.
