18/06/2022

Earlier, the e-hailing platform made a fuss about the fee The same controversy has now engulfed even the takeaway platform!

A cup of Milo became RM19.50?

A Malaysian netizen posted a video on Tik Tok, showing that he ordered a small cup of ice Milo from McDonald’s on the takeaway platform for RM4.91, but when he looked at the total receipt, it turned out to be RM19.50!

The extra charge is almost RM15

Taking a closer look at the receipt, there are several extra charges, including RM6.99 for shipping, RM1.80 for packaging, and RM5.40 for the price difference, as the takeaway platform has a limited minimum spend, and when the specified spend amount is not reached, the price difference needs to be made up. These small amounts add up to almost RM15, and the high shipping cost of almost RM7 is believed to be due to the high number of orders from restaurants during peak hours or the lack of delivery staff.

Netizens: better to make your own

Netizens have been talking about this “sky-high Milo”, some netizens reminded that when placing an order on the takeaway platform, it is important to pay attention to whether there is an exclamation mark (!) at the shipping cost. The price of the Milo is a little higher than the price of the Milo, which means that the shipping cost will increase due to the busy schedule.

Another netizen left a message saying that he would directly cancel the order if he saw that the charges were unreasonable. In addition, some netizens teased that if you just want to buy a cold cup of Milo, you might as well make it yourself or ask your neighbor to make one.

As of 1 p.m. on June 18, the food delivery platform had not responded to the issue. Do you think this is a reasonable charge for this matter? In any case, as a consumer, you must pay close attention when you place an order for something! Have you ever had a similar experience? Welcome to share your comments!
