BTR cash aid will replace BKM cash aid

22/12/2022

BTR will replace BKM.

BTR will be the new name for the 2023 aid scheme.

According to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Anwar in Parliament, the first phase of BTR will be distributed in January, with the family group receiving RM300 and the single group receiving RM100.

The BTR will replace the previous government’s BKM. When Dato Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob was prime minister, he launched the BKM aid programme. This assistance programme will begin in 2022.

Prior to this, Tan Sri Muhyiddin was in charge and launched the BPR in 2020 and 2021. When Muhyiddin became Prime Minister, the epidemic was at its height. Muhyiddin was launching a series of Prihatin-themed plans at the time, and the BPR aid was one of them.

Following the successful entry of the Pakatan Harapan government into Putrajaya in 2018, Tun Mahathir’s Pakatan Harapan government launched BSH. From this point forward, the government also began to implement a targeted aid plan, which means that families with more children can receive more assistance.

During his tenure as Prime Minister, Dato’ Seri Najib launched the BR1M. This will be the first time our country establishes a similar cash assistance fund. Only low-income groups were eligible for assistance funds at the time.
