Booster doses have been given to over 63 percent of Malaysia’s adult population.
As of yesterday, 14,810,832 people in Malaysia had gotten the Covid-19 booster dose, accounting for 62.9 percent of the adult population.
According to the CovidNow website, a total of 22,951,398 people, or 97.5 % of the adult population, have finished the immunisation, with 23,231,225 people, or 98.7%, having gotten at least one dose.
As of Wednesday, a total of 929,733 children aged five to eleven years have received the first dose of the vaccine under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme for Children (PICKids), accounting for 26.2 percent of the country’s population.
A total of 2,802,265 adolescents aged 12 to 17 have completed the Covid-19 immunisation, accounting for 90.1 percent of the population, while 2,898,437 have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
A total of 97,534 vaccine doses were given out yesterday, with 26,923 being the first dose, 1,389 being the second dose, and 69,222 being the booster dosage, bringing the total number of vaccine doses given out under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK) to 67,416,313.
According to the Health Ministry’s GitHub portal, 115 people died as a result of Covid-19 yesterday, with Johor having the most deaths (25), followed by Sabah (24), Selangor (18), Kedah and Negri Sembilan (eight each), Perak (seven), Pahang and Kuala Lumpur (six each), Kelantan (four), Penang (three), Melaka and Perlis (two each), Sarawak and Terengganu (one each).
