The BKM grant is expected to be disbursed to the beneficiaries by the end of September.
The BKM is a government assistance scheme that aims to alleviate the burden of the low-income group. Families with a monthly income of up to RM5,000 and singles with a monthly income of up to RM2,500 are eligible to receive the BKM.
According to the information released by the Ministry of Finance, the BKM assistance will be paid in 4 phases, phases 1 and 2 will be paid in March and June, phase 3 will be paid in September and phase 4 will be paid in December.
In the past, the government will disburse the BKM payment at the end of September and the beneficearies will receive the payment directly through their bank accounts. For those who do not have a bank account, they can go to BSN Bank to receive the payment in cash.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ishmael Sabil has revealed that if the inflation in the country continues to rise, the government will increase the amount of BKM aid. With the inflation rate reaching 4.40% in July, it is very likely that the government will increase the BKM aid in September.
The government has not yet announced the exact date of BKM aid disbursement, but it is believed that the Prime Minister will make an announcement in the near future.
