Be careful to get “diabetes”! You must understand that these “misconceptions” about diabetes do not mean you have to eat more sweets to get diabetes! Prevention is better than cure ~

Many people are not aware of diabetes! I believe everyone will think at first sight that “Diabetes” must be caused by eating too many sweets, but this is not only the cause. Today, let you know about your misunderstanding of diabetes. Only after you know it can you avoid diabetes!

1. Diabetes is caused by eating too many sweets.

Don’t deny that eating too much sweet food is one of the causes of diabetes, but this is not the main reason! Your risk of developing diabetes will depend on your age, diet, stress, less exercise, etc. Therefore, it is recommended to have a good life and eating habits from the young, and get used to more exercise, a balanced diet and less trans-fat food, to avoid suffering from diabetes as much as possible.

2. Young people will not get diabetes.

Many young people think so, so they do not control their diet and eat whatever they like, especially fried food, cakes, desserts, milk tea and so on. This is not to say that you will not have diabetes when you are young. The so-called “disease comes from the mouth”, remember to control your daily diet, have regular physical examinations, and prevent it even if you are young.

3. Do not eat staple food to control blood sugar.

When it comes to controlling blood sugar and losing weight, people often say, don’t eat delicate staple foods, such as noodles, white rice, steamed bread and other carbohydrate foods, which will rapidly increase the sugar content. However, the human body must consume carbohydrates every day to turn them into energy, so that it can work hard. If the staple food is eaten too little, hypoglycemia will easily occur, which will lead to dizziness and lack of energy! Therefore, you must eat a proper amount of staple food every day. Coarse grain/low GI carbohydrate food can be used instead of refined staple food, which can slow down the sugar raising the speed of the human body.

4. Sugar-free food can be eaten safely.

Do you think the “sugar-free” food really has no sugar at all, and it doesn’t matter if you eat too much? Is wrong! Any “sugar-free” food does not mean that no sugar is added, but only “sugar substitute”. Although sugar substitute is suitable for diabetics or dieters, most of the raw materials for eating sugar-free desserts are flour, and flour is a carbohydrate, which will also raise your blood sugar! So, don’t think that “sugar-free food can be satisfied,” but also look at what kind of sugar-free food it is.

5. People with diabetes should not eat fruit.

Although the sugar content of most fruits is relatively high, it does not mean that fruits should not be eaten. As long as you avoid some high-sugar fruits, such as durian, jackfruit, longan, etc., you can eat some low-sugar fruits, such as apples, dragon fruits, pears, guava, etc., and suggest drinking fewer fruits such as fruit juice, which will destroy the dietary fibre of fruits. Eating fructose in most fruits without fibre will lead to a surge in blood sugar and insulin.

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease that can not be ignored. Even if you are very young, please pay attention! Prevention is better than cure. Once you have diabetes, you can not cure it. You can only make it mild or severe according to your diet. Therefore, when you are young, you should pay attention to your health and control your eating habits, so that you can prevent as many diseases as possible with your age.
