Attention Flyers! Korea AirAsia has announced the weighing of passengers.
South Korea’s second largest civil aviation company Asiana Airlines, announced that from 22/1/2024 to Seoul Gimpo Airport boarding international flights passenger volume weight, the people if they do not want to can refuse.
According to the Korea Times, Asiana Airlines said that passengers do not have to take off any clothes or carry-on baggage when they are weighed in order to calculate the standard weight of a passenger, which allows for more accurate weight distribution on planes and increased flight safety.
On the other hand, estimating the average weight of passengers allows airlines to know how much extra fuel their planes need. Last December, Asiana Airlines measured the weight of 5,000 domestic passengers, and Korean Air conducted a passenger weight measurement program last August.
