ASM announced a dividend of 4 sen, which is the same as last year.
Amanah Saham Malaysia (ASM), also known as ASM, is a trust fund available to the Chinese and has just announced a dividend payout of 4 sen per unit, which will be credited to the subscriber’s ASM account on April 1.
ASM has been paying quite a decent dividend since its inception in 2000, with a record low 4.00% payout last year and this year. In the past 20 years, ASM’s highest payout was 7.80% in 2008, and 2021 is the lowest payout year, at 4.00%.
ASM’s dividend payout ratio was 7.80% in 2001, 7.00% in 2002, 6.60% in 2003, 7.00% in 2004 and 7.20% in 2005. The dividend payout ratio declined each year for the next few years.
The selling price per unit of ASM is RM1.00 and the selling price per unit remains the same, which means it will not fluctuate with the market. The dividend payout will be calculated on a monthly basis. If you deposit 1000 units in April and raise 900 units in May, you will still be entitled to the interest of 1000 units in April.
