As of yesterday, almost 36% of Malaysian youngsters had received the Covid-19 vaccine.
As of yesterday, 1,293,762 children aged five to eleven, or 36.4 percent of Malaysia’s kid population, had received their first dose of Covid-19 vaccination as part of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme for Children (PICKids).
According to the CovidNow website, a total of 2,847,758 adolescents aged 12 to 17 have been fully vaccinated, accounting for 91.5 percent of the group, while 2,944,865 or 94.6 percent have gotten at least one dose of the vaccine.
15,595,578 people, or 66.3 percent of the adult population in the country, have received booster shots, and 22,947,925 people, or 97.5 percent, have been fully vaccinated, with 23,224,065 people, or 98.7%, having received at least one dose of the vaccine.
The vaccine was provided in a total of 33,034 doses yesterday, including 12,567 initial doses, 1,297 second doses, and 19,170 booster doses, increasing the total number of vaccine doses dispensed under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK) to 68,642,700.
Meanwhile, according to the Health Ministry’s GitHub page, 52 people died as a result of Covid-19 yesterday, with Selangor having the most cases (11), followed by Johor and Kedah with eight each, and Pahang and Perak with six each.
Penang had four cases, Kelantan and Sabah had two apiece, while Melaka, Negri Sembilan, Perlis, Sarawak, and Terengganu each had one.
