The estimated loss for Terengganu flood was more than RM38.2M.
Based on 6,923 reports from flood victims as of Monday, Terengganu police estimate losses from the recent floods in the state at more than RM38.2 million.
Besut district police headquarters (IPD) received the most reports (2471), followed by Hulu Terengganu IPD (732), Kemaman (IPD), and Dungun IPD (498).
The Setiu IPD received 454 reports, while the Marang IPD received 220. However, because many victims who filed reports did not specify the exact amount of losses suffered, the actual losses are estimated to be higher.
Meanwhile, the heavy flooding in December affected 154 Terengganu police officers.
The loss of officers and members is estimated to be around RM1 million, but assistance has been channelled through the respective district police chiefs.
