Apple suffered a big blow! EU legislation: from 2024, all electronic products must have USB-C charging!

08/06/2022

EU member states and the European Parliament reached an agreement on Tuesday on the charging plug specifications for smartphones and tablets sold in the EU, and will introduce a bill in the form of a text that requires all portable products to have USB-C charging specifications! This regulation will take effect in the fall of 2024!

It is known that according to this new bill, all products released from the fall of 2024 will have to use USB-C charging specifications in order to standardize the charging mode of all devices and reduce the generation of electronic waste. However, Apple said that the standardization of specifications will cause slow innovation in chargers, which in turn will cause more pollution. But the irony is that the world has entered the era of 65W and so on tell charging, iPhone still remains in 15W slow charging, in the end who is slow to innovate?

This new regulation will affect not only the iPhone, but also some of the entry phones. It is understood that at present, in addition to the iPhone is not using the USB-C slot, there are also some phones using the older Micro-USB slot. But this will all be unified in 2024!
